Marley’s Paw-some Week: Wiggles, Zoomies, and Realtor Dog Duties

Marley’s Paw-some Week: Wiggles, Zoomies, and Realtor Dog Duties

Hiya, friends! It’s me, Marley—your favorite golden fluffball and now official author! Can you believe it? Ever since my big debut last week, I’ve been basking in ALL the attention. People keep saying, “Marley, you’re so talented!” and honestly, they’re not wrong. More belly rubs? Yes, thank you very much!

This week was paws-itively packed with excitement, so let me fill you in. Mom and I have been working on something called the 12-week year goal-setting plan. I’m not exactly sure what it means, but it involves a lot of scribbling goals and serious WAM meetings. One of Mom’s goals is to find a day off where she can spend the day paying bills and cleaning the house instead of working. BOR-ING, but she says it’s so we can both relax more. Plus, a clean house means no more of those sneaky dust bunnies stealing my toys. Win-win!

Wednesday was soooo much fun! We had a sales meeting, and I was on my absolute bestest behavior. No jumping (even though I reeeeally wanted to), no barking—just me, shimmying my fluffy butt in front of everyone to get all the pets. Agents, the lenders from Gershman Mortgage, Alyssa from Nebraska Title Company, and the ladies from REALTORS® Association of Lincoln couldn’t resist my wiggles. Mom said she was super proud of me, and let’s be honest, I’m a total pro at this point.

Thursday was kind of a bummer. Mom left me while she went to meet with Chad the owner of Hadley Homes. But at least I got to stay with my favorite person, Emily, and her dogs, Phoebe and Frank (also known as my DAD!). Playing with them all day was so much fun, but wow, it’s exhausting! Still, I was hoping to go to Chad’s farm because he has FOUR doggy friends for me to play with. Can you imagine the zoomies we could have had?

Friday was more my style—I got to guard the office while Mom went to a Government Affairs meeting with her agents. When she came back, she was talking about all kinds of things: Lincoln road projects (boring), an interim LPS superintendent (whatever that is), and 65 new permits for houses that can be built for under $200,000 in Lincoln! That means more cozy homes for humans to snuggle up in (and maybe room for a dog like me to join the fun 🐾). She kept chatting about other city stuff I didn’t quite understand, but she seemed excited, so I wagged my tail like the good, supportive pup I am!

Saturday started off fun! Mom and Emily met with some of Mom’s old friends/clients who are ready to move out of Nebraska. They want her and Emily to sell their house. Mom told me all about their dog, Bo-mont, and now I’m convinced we’d have the best competition ever to see who’s the goodest doggo. After that, Mom went to Iowa to look at a car. She keeps saying I’m a “passenger princess” (which sounds super fancy), but I’m not sure why she’s thinking of getting a new car. We both love our car! Humans and their decisions, am I right?

Sunday was kind of a snooze. Mom went to church and then to Omaha for an open house. Sometimes she lets me tag along and hang out in the garage, but she said it was too cold this time. So, kennel time it was. I dreamed about warmer days and open houses where I can charm everyone with my golden retriever glow.

Being a real estate agent’s dog is hard work, but it’s the best job in the world. Between all the extra belly rubs, exciting adventures, and being Mom’s number-one sidekick, I’m totally living the dream. But wow, this week has been ruff—time for a nap (and maybe a snack if I’m lucky!). Oh, and guess what? Mom said she’s selling her 2015 Nissan Murano, so if you’re looking for a car that smells faintly of treats, chewed up tennis balls and adventure, give her a call! Until next time, tail wags and puppy kisses! 🐾❤️
